What Parents Need to Know

About GirlsGoTech.org

Parents need to know that this is an educational math, science, and tech site organized by the Girl Scouts of America to get girls interested in these fields. The four games on this site will be particularly fun for girls who like secret codes and mind bending games. Other than the games, this site is text-heavy and not very interactive. Some links no longer work and some content is outdated. Parents may need to view this site with their tween girls to mine all the really useful, inspiring information available.

Families Can Talk About

  • Families can talk about why a site like this is targeting just girls for math, science, and tech careers. There's a fantastic .pdf download for parents that gives an in-depth look at the issues of girls in math and science education, with tips to help their daughters excel. Play the games together and discover how science, math, and tech "learning" can be easily turned into fun.
