I would think twice before indulging in the candy or the website! Goetze's candy, most noted for their caramel creams, contain an ungodly amount of trans fats - in case you aren't familiar with this toxic substance found in some cheap processed foods, it's one of the most unhealthy things you can put into your mouth, aside from maybe broken glass or rat poison. (Research it online to see its detrimental health effects in children and adults alike.) Major cities are beginning to outlaw this substance, just as other entire countries have already done. Yet if you visit Goetze's website, the emphasis is on how HEALTHY their candy is an even go so far as to imply that eating their candy is part of a healthy lifestyle! I wouldn't let my children within 100 feet of this page without first explaining to them the lies used to market this unhealthy product. I'm sickened at the tricks they try to pull on uneducated consumers and, more popularly, children. Stay away!

What Parents Need to Know
About Goetze's Candy Co., Inc.
Parents need to know that there's a store on the site, but otherwise the marketing messages are fairly light. In "The Mooving Tale," a cute sequencing game, the cows "bribe" a stage manager to let them sing for an audience. The bribe consists of Cow Tales candy, of course.

Families Can Talk About
- Families can talk about the media's role in educating people about health and nutrition. Do you think it's the responsibility of Web sites and TV shows to promote good health? Would you expect to find information about good healthy on a candy company Web site? If you found it, would you trust it? Why or why not?
