What parents need to know

Parents need to know that the site features small "Ad Alert" graphics throughout. Hershey's says, "'Ad Alert' is our way of telling you that the website you're viewing may be trying to sell you something. If you are under the age of 18, always get permission from your parent or guardian before you make a purchase or even submit any information about yourself online. Thanks!" There's also a link to a branded merchandise store where aficionados may purchase food, apparel, and gifts.

What's it about?

Fulfill all your chocolate desires at this site with chocolate-related games, screensavers, downloads, recipes, craft ideas, and more. In the "Downloads" section, kids can get a printable Twizzlers poster plus a handful of product-related screensavers and wallpaper. Learn how to make chocolate "rosebuds" for Valentine's Day in the "Crafts" section of the site. There are also directions for making a Hershey's mouse pad, party decorations, and the like. The site also offers a number of holiday-themed matching games, word games, and mazes, all involving Hershey products.

Is it any good?

There are predictable promotions involving Hershey's products, of course. This area needs a little more attention. There were six different contests promoted on the date of review. Three were closed, one hadn't started yet, and the other two required a mailed entry.

In general the site contains games and activities with a medium fun value, framed by subtle (and not-so subtle) marketing and promotional features.
