Limited shows and games for young WB cartoon fans.

parents & educators say

What parents need to know

Parents need to know that preschoolers can watch cartoons and play games featuring their favorite Warner Bros.' cartoon characters. The site is a big promotion for the characters, and there's nothing extraordinarily educational here. Kids have to know how to read the basic game instructions, but some of the categories use voiceover when you scroll over them.

Educational value: A few of the games and activities include elements of counting, matching, music, letters, and other basic preschool skills.
Positive messages: Typical Warner Bros., old-style cartoon antics, such as Fred Flintstone's attempts to get out of work, are about the worst social messages kids will find here.
Violence: DC Super Friends cartoons and game section may be too intense for some preschoolers. Batman, Green Lantern, Superman, and other hero characters try to save people from Lex Luthor's fires, crashes, and obstacles. Also, while Scooby-Doo isn't violent, some preschoolers may find suspenseful ghost storylines scary.
Sex: Not applicable.
Language: Kids have to know how to read the basic game instructions, but some of the categories use voiceover when you scroll over them.
Consumerism: This site is set up to promote WB cartoon characters and their shows.
Drinking, drugs, & smoking: Not applicable.

What to talk about

Talk to your kids
Families can talk about setting limits for online game play, especially ones of questionable quality. Some games on this site are set up in a rather clunky format that could frustrate the attention span of many preschoolers. Would it be easier and just as fun (or even more fun) to play a board game, card game, or something outside?

Is it any good?

Is it any good?

It's too bad that this site doesn't come close to measuring up to the educational standards or entertainment value that most parents and their computer savvy preschoolers expect from a site they'll want to visit often. Many of the games are one-hit wonders, and some of the slower ones can become frustrating to preschoolers with short attention spans. But, some of the games and activities may be fun for preschoolers to play around with a time or two after they watch a related cartoon.
