I am a 37 year old mother, and joined MYB myself, as a friend had also joined and it looked similar to MySpace...I am in no way a prude, and enjoy other networking sites like Myspace and Facebook. I had an account on MYB for a few months. There is NO WAY in Hades I would let my kid have an account there, even if he were 13+. I finally deleted my account due to all of the sleazy men that sent me sexually suggestive messages (and my profile was not customized in a way that would indicate that I would be receptive to such messages) and friend requests, comments, "gifts" and flirts that are mass-generated from paying members. I had requests and messages that were worded EXACTLY the same from multiple people outside of the United States (scam? very likely). The MyMag section, including the message boards, seem to be full of sexually explicit teenagers giving other teenagers advice about life and love, with little to no moderation or input from any intelligent or sensible adults, except of course, for all of the sleazy adult men I mentioned above. The virtual "gifts" that members can send each other (including the teens) include sexy nighties, whips, handcuffs, and a bunch of other suggestive items. In order to be safe for teens, this site needs to have stricter limits on adult-minor interaction (though they can always find a way around that, I guess) and more moderation from the site owners. In my not so humble opinion, the mix of horny adults and (hopefully) innocent teens is not only undeniable, but downright scary. I think MySpace is MUCH more safe and a whole lot less questionable. (Not even going to mention the whole "selling yourself for Lunch Money" aspect of the OWNED! application..but the words "pervert's dream" come to mind!) NOTE TO PARENTS: If you look at the reviews, it seems that it's the teens that are saying this is a decent site. As an educated, moral, and experienced mother... I'm telling you to FULLY check this site out before you let your child open an account, because I find it to be totally inappropriate for children.

What Parents Need to Know
About MyYearbook
Parents need to know that this teen social networking site is all about having fun connecting with past and present classmates. Despite that high schoolers are the target audience, many of the features aren't for teens. Basic profiles can have racy photos, videos, "popularity" rankings, lists of schools you've attended or attend, and other personal stuff like what mood you're in (one of the popular choices is "horny"). Users can interact by doing things like posting comments in the unfiltered forums and profiles, becoming someone's secret admirer, or voting on who, between two users, is prettier. The site does offer privacy settings to control which sections approved friends can see, an option to block people, and easy ways to report abuse.

Families Can Talk About
- Families can talk about why posting a suggestive photo of yourself -- even with a fake name -- might be a bad idea. Why would that put you at risk? Who might see it? Also, what information is OK to share online and what is better left unsaid?

Can they handle it?
I like it, but you dont have much of a choice in private settings for your profile. Its either showing or not, its okay but most girls take photos of themselves half naked and in bikini's and stuff but still it depends how mature your child is.

Check it out for yourself...
This website shouldn't be used for kids under 16, but again, there are those parents who don't take control of/responsibility for there kids. I have seen some nude profile pictures even (they were over 21). Kids should have to worry about sex, especially learn about it from a website. There are young teens talking about how they lost/would like to lose there virginity. It's disgusting!
