What parents need to know

Parents need to know that Snoopy.com offers a harmless visit with all your favorite Peanuts characters, including a 30-day archive of their most recent comic strip adventures.

What's it about?

This site includes introductions to all the Peanuts characters, a time line history (50 years -- 18,000 strips!), and a tribute to its creator, Charles M. Schultz. There are reproductions of his last "farewell" strips and several homage strips contributed by fellow cartoonists. Kids may want to move right to the games section, which features an online jigsaw puzzle, coloring book, and several word games. This section also houses several brief downloadable movies, plus screensavers, wallpaper, and a collection of cursors.

Is it any good?

Fans of the Peanuts comic strip will love this site. Commercialism is minimal. There are two small ad boxes on every page, but they're unobtrusive. There's a link to the Snoopy Store, where one can purchase such items as Peanuts chess sets, limited-edition watches, and character sportswear.

What families can talk about

Families can talk about their favorite comic strip characters. Which ones do you most identify with? Families can also talk about the art of cartooning. Do you think it would be a fun job?
