What Parents Need to Know
About ZiggityZoom
Parents need to know that there's nothing better on the Internet for the youngest computer users than finding a Web site based on a fun, popular storybook character in a format full of learning activities. Built around BunBun the rabbit and his friends (including many new ones), this easy-to-navigate educational site is ideal for pre- and early readers. If you can ignore the frantically jumping BunBun on many of the site's pages, you'll find all the options this whimsical, creative site has for kids to read, count, color, draw, and imagine in both on- and off-line exploration. There's also a parent section with articles about healthy habits, arts and crafts, and other activities.

Families Can Talk About
- Families can talk about the healthy lifestyle messages this site includes, such as the games that take kids outside. The Look and Find printout sheets for the park, zoo, and backyard are excellent examples of finding resources online that can get kids outdoors and moving. Also, ask your young computer user to compare coloring the whimsical coloring pages online versus printing them and coloring the old fashioned way. What's the difference in the two experiences? Which is more fun? Why?
