This is a good effort at talking about apples but it clearly has no play component for kids... needs a little bit more work to attract their attention.

What Parents Need to Know
About Apples & More
Parents need to know that this educational site from the University of Illinois Extension is all about apples. Some of the site's categories have original content; others are simply a collection of links to other apple resources. There are several games and activities, which are safe for kids -- although younger ones might need help with some of the instructions. There's no advertising on the site, and sites linked to are equally educational in nature, with little or no advertising. Every page on the site is also available in Spanish.

Families Can Talk About
- Families can talk about their favorite kinds of apples. How many kinds of apples have you tried? Which are available at your grocery store? Do apples from the grocery store taste different from the apples at you local farmers' market? Why? What are some of your favorite things to eat that are made from apples, or have apples in them?
