The good stuff

  • Educational value:

    Overall, this is a site for entertainment, not education. Players must remember the prompts to use proper keyboard and arrow keys, as well as navigate their way around the house party. Mini-games require some skill. Some creativity comes into play to make and name imaginary friends.
 

What to watch out for

  • Messages:

    To be eligible for adventures within the game, you must earn "citizenship" points by completing helpful duties, like making the bed. But to play the site's mini-games, you must do favors for friends, which fill up your "popularity" bar.

  • Violence:

    Not an issue.

  • Sex:

    Not an issue.

  • Language:

    Not an issue.

  • Consumerism:

    Site explicitly mentions upon entry that it contains ads for Cartoon Network shows (including some Goosebumps ads that may be scary for younger kids) and gives the option to opt out. Other product ads include Pop Tarts, and an option to subscribe to the CN podcast.

Despite the long introduction segment, fans of this show will most likely love this free gaming site. Even though the site's format mirrors other avatar-style chat sites currently ultra-popular with many kids, there's no "real" chatting (just with the pretend game characters) or multi-player interaction.
