i love the site! It is very helpful! I am almost 13, and it teaches preteens well. I mean when talking to parents or friends is awkward, it's nice to know there are educational sites about that stuff. It's fantastic!
I love beinggirl*, especially the feature where you can "Ask Iris", a professional on periods and puberty, any question you'd like. The only problem is the commercialism. Oh my goodness, it's not even funny how many tie-ins lurk on that site: they advertise Always pads and Tampax tampons EVERYWHERE, and the site is like a big playground for advertisers. Whenever they mention using a sanitary product, they make sure they use "Tampax" or "Always" instead of just tampon or pad. It's okay, and I love the information they give you, but it is a little too much.
This website is for girls from ages 11-17. It helps you on info you might want to know about stuff, and it really makes things less complicated for you. I know that when I went on the site, i signed up first thing! Also, my school nurse a couple years ago even reccomended it, so as you can see, it is completley harmless. Girls will enjoy the makeover games.

This is the perfect site for young girls to learn about growing up or for older girls to use as a guide! There is an article on everything that has to do with puberty. From periods to bras to articles warning the effects of drug and alcohal use. The articles are informative but clear and easy to understand. There are also informative videos (my favorites are the "Period Diaries" videos) featuring young women that girls can relate to. The site also features a period tracker, where you enter in some data and it predicts when your next period will be. A lot of reviews worry about the advertisements, but me, being a 14 year old girl myself, find that they are not annoying and are quite easy to mentally block out. This website is my go-to place for information when my mom isn't around. It is great for young girls and teens alike. I love it!
This site has pretty good information about periods, puberty, and growing up for girls 10 and up. When I was younger, I used to go on this site, and a lot of information I know today about this kind of stuff came from BeingGirl. The information is acurate and easy to understand for girls this age. Along with this, the site also features some fun games, info and how-tos for beauty and style, and other entertainment.
However, the site is chalked full of advertisements for Always pads and for Tampax because the site is run by Procter & Gamble (P&G). It is really annoying when they write an article about period protection and instead of saying just "pad or tampon" they say Always Pads or Tampax Tampons. Also, it makes it seem like all girls have to shave their legs, particularily with a Venus Razor, which is even present in a game on the site
Apparently it contains some foul languge posted by users in the comments but honestly I don't think I've ever seen a swear, even the word "crap" on that site. But, I guess it's possible because the site is not monitered. The site also contains some articles about sex so the girls who are on this site should know this and understand what it's about.
I've noticed that they never update the site really. Sometimes they make the homepage a little different, but there is never new articles. I used to go on that site a lot but I read all the articles and eventually got bored with it, the information was what I was looking for. The old section, "Ask Iris" or the new one "Ask the Experts" is awful, I have asked many questions before, never once getting a respnse. I think girls need a chance to ask their own questions and get an answer on sites like these, because sometimes it can be hard to ask someone you know about this sometimes embarrasing stuff.
Personally, I don't like it. The advertising is just too much and the fact that they are unresponsive and never write new articles bugs me. I will say that the info is good but can be a little influencing.
