What Parents Need to Know
About BlinkyTV
Parents need to know that this site describes itself as "Like YouTube, but for kids," and that's exactly what it is. The site offers a large, and very random collection of user-posted, child-friendly video. There's no objectionable content, but the lack of any organizational framework makes the site a total grab-bag.

Families Can Talk About
- Families can talk about children’s Web sites. BlinkyTV wants to be a youth-focused version of YouTube, the enormously popular online video site. Does the world need a YouTube Lite? YouTube already screens some content; do you think it’s possible for it to be truly kid-safe? Would that make it less popular for its mainstream audience? Do you think there’s enough demand from kids for a site like BlinkyTV? What kind of user-generated online videos appeal most to kids, and what kinds should they avoid?
