Penguins is great except one little thing !
The only thing we dislike about it is every time my son clicks on most things it wants him to purchase a membership...so I get asked several times a day if he can get a membership...which can be aggravating because my financial situation right now wont allow it.

club penguin rocks!
club penguin is really fun.it is also really safe.when u sign up,ur parent chooses a chat mode.for their child.one is where ur child can choose messages from a list so their is absolutely NO bad messages.another is where their child can type whatever they want, but if they swear they are banned.it depends on the severity of the language used and the time they did it (first time, third time, ect.) for the first few times, they will get banned for a day or two.if you swear too much,u will get banned forever.and, when u swear, other penguins cannot see it.as far as personal info goes, thats pretty safe too.i wouldnt give it a 100% on that, maybe a 98%,but its pretty safe.in club penguin u can play games to earn virtual coins and buy stuff.u can decorate your igloo and dress up your penguin.however,to be able to decorate your igloo and to use all clothing items, you have to purchase a "membership." it costs $5.99 a month.anyway, the site is really fun.id say people on club penguin are about 7-16.id recomend it for ppl 8+,7+ at the very least.and if your overprotective,9+.you can also adopt little virtual pets called "puffles." puffles are basically little furry balls with a face on them.their cute! you can feed them, walk them, and play with them.its fun!

Club Penguin offered a three month reduced fee opportunity. Unfortunately for those who live in the Pacific Time Zone, the offer can be pulled before the day is half over. Club Penguin will not accommodate a request to obtain this offer and could care less about the fact that it was pulled early for pacific time than the rest of the country. You're out of luck is basically what I was told. Don't waste your money. Play elsewhere and receive more professional treatment.

Kids, on the computer or outside???
If you look at the kids who reviewed it, they loved it. I thought this is weird, some kids knew all the names of the "Main Penguins". Why cant kids just go out-side play hop scotch??? Swim??? Run around??? Draw??? Instead they sit on the computer and watch TV. I let my kids spend there time however they want. If they start staying on the internet or watching to much TV i make them go play outside, enjoy being a kid, not paying the bills, not doing the laundry, not doing the dishes, not having a job, and not driving everywhere. That is the way I look at it. But this is your choice.

Membership PROBLEMS
Overall, Club Penguin is smart & fun, but membership has some problems that need addressed in order to make this site totally terrific. Membership allows kids to fully enjoy the site, however, when the membership renewal doesn't go though or expires, objects such as costumes, hats, ninja outfits, igloo items & more all "disappear temporarily" until the minimum $5.95 fee is paid. Now, not only is that rather ROTTEN to do to kids who already "purchased" these items with points earned while PAID members, it's simply BAD BUSINESS. It would be just as motivating & lucrative for the site owner to simply KEEP EVERYTHING ALREADY EARNED DURING PAID MEMBERSHIP IN CHILDREN'S ACCOUNTS, but prevent any "new" items to be obtained until membership is renewed. After all, we already PAID to have access to all those cute items & therefore they NOW BELONG to our child's account! Items acquired during membership should remain the "property" of the account holder, not the site! It's ridiculous for a child to exclaim, "Oh no, I can't use my ninja suit and my items are blocked out!" in order to prompt another $5.95 membership fee! The site owner should prompt membership payment/renewal by making ONLY NEW ITEMS unavailable until membership is renewed again. Certainly, the retailer has no right to TAKE WHAT WAS ALREADY PAID FOR! After all, using prepaid debit cards for online purchases & even the Club Penguin cards available at C.V.S, walmart, etc. means that parents will always be renewing their child's account! So why in the world would Club Penguin be so crummy to kids to with-hold many of the fun things they earned while paid members -- even if only for an hour while we care-givers & parents quickly run to the store for a new prepaid debit or club penguin card? The same prompt for membership renewal can be communicated just as clearly by simply withholding account access to NEW STUFF until membership is renewed, without all the unnecessary DRAMA! Club Penguin, kick it up a notch & be a better retailer. Then, yes, your site will be truly GREAT! Best, A Wise Grandmother

A charming virtual world, some uncharming penguins.
At first look Club penguin is a cute, kid-friendly virtual world which in many aspects it is. However there are some rather rotten little penguins. My daughter signed up and I got her a months membership and for weeks she played happily on it. Unfortunately she ran into a nasty little peice of work. Her friend invited her to his igloo, they chatted all was well. Until his 'girlfriend' turned up and started picking on her saying things like 'get the f * * k away from my boy'. Yes she managed to get the f word through by spacing it out. We reported and blocked the little so and so and left it at that. In conclusion it's a nice little game but I suggest you monitor your children whilst they play, just incase.

Don't do it
My boys used the site for a while and grew bored with it. I tried to cancel the paid, monthly membership but their site would not allow me to do so. I sent an email to their customer service department, but my credit card was charged again. I sent another email asking for a credit because they did not cancel the membership as I requested. They refused to take care of the credit. I sent another emai, and they refused again. I sent yet another email, but so far nothing has been done. Sadly, customer service doesn't seem to be a priority to Club Penguin.

Rude,gay,mean,ripoffs
First when you sign for a free account the email comes in 2 days. When you play you can't buy pets, clothe, or even access parties. If I were you just let your child play Neopets or Webkinz. It only costs about $10 to buy a webinz. For 12 months on club penguin it costs $60. The penguin in your own chat say like "you won't ot hit it of tonight" or some sexual kid like that. So keep your kid safe and I am giving it a 2/5 star review. It is a waste.

Seems like another thing for kids to wine to their parents to get them a membership and to waste more money.

Why you should not let your child use Club Penguin com
Please do not join CLUB PENGUIN! Here is why... You can work very hard to gain points and the points buy you nice things. If your computer goes down without you saving it you will lose all your points. I wrote them and they claim this does not happen, but it does. Then if your membership ends, you lose everything you worked hard for. The only way to gain things back is to renew your membership. So if you don't pay them money you lose everything you worked so hard for. I think that is extortion and it does not teach kids anything. Parents, please show club penguin you mean - business, good business. Don't buy a membership. play for free.

Club Penguin is an awesome website! It is very appropriate for kids of any age. If one kid types in a swear word, the moderators wont even let any of the other kids see it! I have an account myself, and love it! Club Penguin is a website to trust!

Club Penguin Rocks the Artic!
Club penguin is a great game for children. You can "waddle around and meet new friends" as the Club Penguin Team said. It is a fun website for kids who love the internet and online exploration. My only concern is that the Seinsei may seem a little demonic to younger children, so you might not want your child going into the dojo. Also, Club Penguin is really safe , so you shouldn't have any problems. I must say, you might rather your child to have ultimate safe chat where the child must chose their message instead of typing. It is easier and better in so many ways! Get ready! Get set! Sign up your child today at www.clubpenguin.com!

Fun game, but kinda leaves the nonmembers feeling left out.
Club Penguin is really fun! The only problem is the whole membership thing. It kinda makes the nonmembers feel left out, but they have party's every month with free items for nonmembers too! If you are a nonmember you can buy backgrounds for your penguins player card and collect the free pins hidden around the island every two weeks! Over all, it's pretty good!

Bulk Review: I've been a member for years, along with my younger cousins. It's a great site, without ads. Now, why 7+? -Moderation Loop-holes: Upon which I've even contacted Club Penguin. Moderation filters do a great job of generally keeping the bad stuff out, and keeping the good things in. However, that does not stop people from coming up with substitutes for these words. I've seen alot of different behaviors on Club Penguin, including some inappropriate, however it's quite a positive community. There are instances where penguins will break the rules, but moderators try their best, and report feature is always handy. It's not a game for four year olds, since it deals with some concepts they are not ready to deal with yet. Education: You can learn how to manage money, as on many sites such as this. Safety: Filters are strong, and numbers are not accepted. Positive Messages: Interaction can usually be very positive, but there are times when it is not, such as when penguins start "relationships." Relationships can be very big on Club Penguin, and one can frequently find "couples" waddling around. This is one very big reason why it's unsuitable for children under 7. Great overall! I wouldn't call it the best, but I really appreciate the hard work that the Club Penguin staff goes to!

Pushing the Limit
Many of the penguins have figured out how to make their way around the limits. Like using "ship", "he's an as", "what the he!!", and others. Although, the players know what it means, they decide that it isn't technically swearing, so they don't report "bad" penguins. It doesn't happen often, because myself and friends I know outside club penguin will report those members.

- Inappropriate sexual content
A lot of the TEENS online make relationships with other penguins. Parents, watch out for that, especially with the 8-year-olds. They can still play, but it can get inappropriate from the players.

This site is perfect! There is lots of things to do. If you are thinking no to this website but want more info, just view a tour of the website! Or maybe make an account for yourself and take a look at the website. It is very kid safe. Though the thing I don't thing is kid safe is sometimes you can see a couple sending 'hearts' out and 'dating'. But anyway, club penguin is great!

Safety is the key issue at Club Peguin. Kids must be careful not to reveal personal information, and the club makes sure any explicit language does not go unheard. Club Penguin is a fun safe way instead of MSN. A harmless virtual world where you can play addictive games and earn cash to purchase items. A perfect kid friendly chat room. Membership shoudn't have to cost though.

WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW
Just to let all parets know this website isn't what it seems to be. Children figure out ways to tell other people their names , such as if your name was Mary, they would say My Arm Rarely Yawns. As you can see they use the first letter of every word. Also they make up names for cuss words too, such as B**** is beach. Also this game is basically getting boyfriends and girlfriends. There are also some sexual content that some of the older kids come up with, like saying " Can I squeeze your oranges.?" and going into igloos by themselves , taking off there clothes and going close to eachother. All I can say is this website is not what everyone thinks. I know, because I used to be a member myself a year ago.

BOO
So boring!! Only babies would play this stupid game. So what if it's safe? Smallworlds is safe, even though people say it isn't. They don't give like free sex education classes. Clubpenguin is dumb!
