Parents need to know that this site is a mom-owned business inspired by a daughter's love of fashion. The idea is to encourage girls to be creative and design their own outfits, which is fun and easy to do. But while mixing and matching is free, to actually get the clothes, girls must persuade their parents to buy each piece for about $20 to $30.
Educational value:Girls who are interested in design and fashion will see how their choice of pattern, colors, and trim results in a finished product that they can wear -- if a parent buys it, that is.
Positive messages:Since many girls create outfits for their avatars online for free, it may be an unpleasant surprise to learn that if they actually want to wear their outfits in real life, an adult will have to purchase them.
I checked out this site. The designs are all very simple, but I'm sure lots of little girls would love it. The one negative thing - they'll be begging you to buy the shirt they designed.
