I'm very suspicious of this site.
The user agreement is long and confusing but I did find a s part that says they can raise the fees and then kick you out if you don't pay.
Service Fees
Currently the FaceChipz* website Service is provided to you for one dollar, however at some point FaceChipz may require you to pay additional fees to use certain services. In advance of any changes to the Service we will post those rates and payment terms within the Terms of Service as well on the relevant pages of the Website. If at such time, you decide not to pay for a fee-based service, you will not be able to continue using the Service, and your child’s account could be deleted.
scary. why trust an imperfect system when your kids are concerned. its not OK to be networking online unless you are of an appropriate age. too many pitfalls.
My children Bengamyn, Eddward, and Izabela, (charley's too young!) went on face chipz and found out that you had to pay $1 to enter, I was mad. No one will pay $1 for a stupid website. Do not pay it trust me it will be stupid.
I don't really get this website. It's really dumb that you have to pay a dollar (facebook is free) and that you need an email adress of someone you want to friend. Parents, just give your kids Facebook. Watch their friends and make sure they're OK people and not strangers, and watch your child's chatting with friends. You can put up privacy settings and make sure your child doesn't play innapropriate games. Some video chat apps have random people chat, which can be dangerous, but if they don't click the random button they will be fine to talk with friends. My daughter got a Facebook page when she was 10, and I was very careful and nothing bad ever happened. Tell your child not to accept random requests, or randomly request to be friends. And
this is a bad website do not buy this 4 ur child my daughter was online and she didnt log off so i looked to see what she was doing so i seen someone tell her come on meet me tomorrow at 7:00 in my car!!!! and my nieces account got hacked this is not a safe or secure website and its not worth a dollar or 50 cents and especially not worth ur childs life if they tell them to meet them
The dollar charge is now just a penny and the only reason they have that in place is because websites dealing with kids under the age of 13 need verifiable parental consent, which is obtained via social security number, or a credit card transaction. There is also no way for strangers to invite kids they don't know to meet them at 7pm. The user agreement is long and confusing I agree but it seems like all those links on kids sites are long and confusing. They are legal documents after all. And don't worry about looking out for language. There are filters in place so that even though there is free communication they block out any bad words that users type.
Because only kids that you have specifically invited, and no one else can see my daughter's page, I feel perfectly safe having her on it. She's only invited her best friends to be on it. They added a lot more things also since she joined. She and her friends love it.
