Great Website When Used Right
Well, I myself am a member of the girlsense world. The positives of this website is that I have the oppurtunity to show my creativity and be praised for it. Another thing I like is that I have a chance to experience what its like to sort of run your own buisness (get clothes, make clothes, and sell clothes). The final thing that is good about this site is that is filters what you need to say, therefore nothing can be too inappropriate. However this pro is also a con because the word safety feature they have is probably too good. For example, I made a boutique about Harry Potter, and I sent out notes telling my friends about it. The problem though was that even though the name Harry Potter was on the list of approved words, I was not allowed to use it because the word "POT" was in his name. The next issue has to be the users usage of the website. What I mean by this is that many users...especially in the auction room.. use this website as a dating site. I don't know how the web masters could address this issue, but the they really need to.

Please Be Aware of Dangers
I approved of this website when my daughter asked if she could set up an account. I have since recently found out that she was invited into a chat which turned into a very sexually explicit scenario. She was so frightened by the experience, that she actually asked me to block this website using our web filter. Please be aware that even the most innocent looking websites can contain inappropriate and harmful content when chat features are present.

Not Safe for Children
My daughter Age 12 has been on GirlSense for several months now and I thought that it was a pretty safe website. However, just this weekend she came to me to tell me that someone chatted with her using sexual references and graphic language. She even asked me to please set up the parental controls on our computer to ban the website completely. I'm just thankful that she came to me with this information. We had a talk about chat rooms and internet safety. I would be very careful about letting your daughters use this site unsupervised.

Beware of this website
My daughter wanted to sign up for this website so I checked it out and was horrified. The sexual language was really shocking in some f the "safe chat rooms". Parents please know that I observed that kids or those posing as kids are working the system. Leaving spaces in vulgar words, and using other terms for body parts are a way to sneak in bad content.

Girlsense reviewed by Commonsense- and it ain't pretty.
There are lots of things to do on website! Though they have some inapropraiate ads on the website, and I've seen 6-year-olds. They also have chat, and it is not as safe as you think. It's very addicting, so I suggest you give your kid a strict time limit for this website- I've spent a whole day on girlsense and, well, let's just say I was very pooped in the morning lol. Also some boys join the website and "go out" with girls. And sometimes when a girl says something bad,she gets away with it! I've seen lots of bullying too. Think twice before joining girlsense, trust me.

Perfect for kids and tweens, and teens.
I think this is a very good website for kids starting at about 9 years old and up. You don't need to worry about inipropriate things because they will not even let you type what state you live in, let a lone swear words.

good for designing not so much chating
i am 13 and i love this website but @ the same time i was horrified bye some of the things people say on chat.im not saying dont let your daughters not go on it because of it just ask them that if someone requests a chat and it gets inappropriate to tell them im sorry but i dont want you to talk to me like that or please dont use that kind of language because if they like to design this is a perfect website. i would say that 12 and up is the best age group for it because of some of the chatrooms but other thatn that it is a fairly good website just make sure your daughter is mature enough to be able to say NO to some of the inappropriate chat rooms and to understand your wishes for them to not get envoled it that stuff.

OK When Used Appropriately
I think it's completely fine except for most of the ads and in the auctions. Especially the crowded ones. Even though you can only type in certain words people still find ways around it and even some of the shirts say inappropriate things on them. And some people on there even have online sex. It's gross. You can block the chat, but there's really nothing as far as I know that you can do about the ads.

Too much bad influence
Too much people on it were having online sex even though it's a kids' website. Those kids on there were such bad influences. I've been asked for sex 3 times on here including one that was a girl who asked me. It's sickening.

fun but frustrating
i love this game alot!!! i like making clothes and designing its alot of fun BUT it can get really annoying cuz no matter wut computer i play this game on it goes 1 mph it's really slow and half the things u click on the site have to load so u can imagine how frustrated i get. even wit all da waiting its an awesome game dat has no limits in design and is the most creative game i've ever seen.

really fun but be wary
i love this site because i plan to be a fashion designer. it's a great way to express creativity and have fun HOWEVER the real time auctions have chat rooms and sometimes there is online "sex" going on there even though girlsense has started using a safe chat type of thing. also users can call people "ugg" (the name of the shoe) to call people ugly and other stuff. i'd say definitely be cautious

GirlSense Safe ir Not Safe?
This site may seem good, but I've been on it. People say inapporprite things on there when in auctions in the market place chatting. They date online. It may be a little safe because I haven't seen anyone ask to meet anyone yet, but still be careful when u let your child go on there. The things they say on there are things that slip through the system like: the word ass they can write the letter r and then type in a couple of numbers and write cuss words for example: r28712718781278217SHIT or r0924890384920834298WHORE. You can let your child on but you if see them in an auction by them selves and with another person(typically a boy because they allow boys on too or a boy if your child is a girl) don't jump to conclusions but it seems like they may be on a "play date", or their are certain people on their that have sex online(which is better than going out and raping someone but still).Just be careful when letting them on.

HMM...
Soooooo.. this website is really great to design clothes and be creative, make some friends, blah blah blah. BUT you really do have to be careful with this one because about 90% of the "kids" *who knows some of the "kids" are probabaly lonely 40 year olds living at home with their mother* "date" on the website .. some going as far as to "do it" *that's how they'll write it since it has safe chat, yet there are SO many ways to get around it easily* e__O I'd set some ground rules about the website, decide whether they can keep chat on or if it has to be off, remind them they cannot believe everything they hear, and I'd monitor it if I were you. If things get out of hand, http://www.girlsense.com/premium/login/delete.pl time to delete the account. I think it's a really good website as long as you're careful XD

A great website for every teen girl!
I dunno about 10+. I'd put it more around 12+. The fashions can be difficult to understand and create, there are some rather skimpy outfits floating around, and yes, some sexual and dating language is used, however for a smaller child, there are word filters so there really is not too much to worry about. The games for GCents can be kinda stupid, and some are fun. I love to go shopping and making fashions (have over 300!), which is odd seeing as how I've never been concerned about it before now. I think this is a great site for all teenagers .
