What parents need to know

Parents need to know that there's not a lot of marketing on the site, but there is some product placement within the games. The product-themed games lack inspiration and are short on fun value. If you're looking for more on Arthur, try the PBS kids' site.

What's it about?

This site consists of a handful of games, including "Apple Harvest Catch," which involves moving your wagon to catch falling apples, and "Fruit Punch Coloring Fun," which offers an opportunity to practice eye-hand coordination as you select a product-themed picture to color, choose your paint, and click where you want the color to land. There's also a trivia quiz starring PBS' lovable Arthur character.

Is it any good?

The product-themed games lack inspiration and are short on fun value. Some play slowly, like a grape-matching memory game -- kids will be bored by the play lag and could quickly lose interest. And if you're looking for more on Arthur, try the PBS kids' site.

What families can talk about

Families can talk about different kinds of online advertising. If you're playing a game that's sponsored by a food brand or features its products, does that count as an ad? Why or why not? Families can also talk about what's a good amount of time for playing online games and can draw up some guidelines for balanced use.
