When is it safe to let my kids go online alone?

Many websites for kids -- like Club Penguin -- are safe and have good privacy controls. But 7-year-olds don't have the judgment or experience to navigate alone. Kids may love YouTube, but it's designed for those over 13. Besides, a simple click can take them somewhere you don't want them to go.

A good place to start: Keep the computer in a central location, and use filters or Google Safe Search. Talk to your kids about Internet safety and make some rules about which kids' websites are OK.
