A place where my daughter can go and "sell" photos of herself to make "Lunch Money", and then use that "Lunch Money" to buy "gifts" such as feathers, handcuffs, one night stands and send those "gifts" to other MYB members. WAY TOO SKEEVY!
My son was on it and he was looking at 13 yr old girls with pics of them in bra's! 13! He is 12 and never allowed on this site again.
Where are these girls father? I would kill one of my girls if they did this crap! And of course you can avoid the nasty stuff, but when kids are that age and its there its going to be looked at either by them selves or with their friends. Its to tempting. Go to face book if you want to chat with friends or better yet go see them!
Hate it. Recently found out my tween signed up for this site. Don't like it at all. Why would a 27 year old friend a 12 year old. I deleted her account.
Not suitable for anyone under 21...and iffy for anyone older
This site is not just for teens! Many 'teens' don't post their real age and are, therefor, exposed to some disgusting photos and ideas. The new video chat is scary. Think of this site as a Craig's list for pedophiles, people into S+M, and cougars of both genders! Keep kids off!
a bogus anonymous message appeared in my email account - when I clicked on it, it was from - my yearbook - - the message had a place to click to - block emai - - when I clicked on -block email - ; the screen immediately linked to their webpage! and when I tried to get into the site to - unsubscribe - it signed me up as a memberwith no way to escape. Who should this unethical behavior be reported to? also, my 14 year old daughter previously was ensnared by this nefarious site and was soon receiving messages from a very creepy pedophilic man who lied about his age. This is a darn scary website.
I had Myyearbook for a while. It's pretty much known as an easy "pick-up site". I see ALOT of guys asking for dirty pictures and things to very young girls. I read the messages these 18-30 year old men were sending my 13 year old niece and made her delete her account.
good passtime for 17 and up should be blocked for anyone younger
im nearing nineteen and have had a myyearbook account for four years, i use the site in an attempt to meet new females and make some friends in any event i use it to pass time, alot of it is very inappropriate for anyone under the age of eighteen all the guys seem to be after cyber sex and dirty pictures regardless of the age, i hate to say it but there are LOTS of whores on the site legal and not many females lie about they're age i had some terrible run in's where i had flirted for months with girls to later find them to be 12-15 and its defiantly a huge issue when that happens because im held responsible. i believe the best thing this site could have is that it needs to be programed with a valid license ID so that it is proven whom is whom there cant be fake accounts and no more lying about age. i hate to say this but if your complaining about naughty messages to your child better check his/her profile and messages first because they welcomed it
I'm 17 and I've had one of these for quite awhile. I like to used this page to express myself if i am upset(stuff i wouldn't want to put on Facebook for my family to view) of use to to meet the people in my area. But this place can be a VERY sexually charged, i would not want someone under the age of 16 on this page. Their is alot of sexting, hooking up, and talking dirty. This is not a place for teens but i think its just apart of teenage life. Their are a few cool things on this page though, You can take your virtual cash and donate it, it then goes to real life charties. and their are some pretty fun games. all around i think 16+ This is okay but not under that,,
I am a recently got on this site. And it amazes me the bullying that goes on. I was teased because of my sexuality, the way I dress, and my name. My real name a few people make fun of me for that.
Of course I reported these people. I reported BOTH of them 6 times. In a months period. Yet nothing was done. The cyber bullying continued. It amazes me that this site says they are a safe place to make friends, I joined for a social experience, yet all I got was bullies. I never got this on Myspace, FaceBook or any other social network.
My advice to parents KEEP YOUR CHILDREN AWAY FROM THIS SITE! I would recommend checking their computers history as well. Because some of the things said on that site, hurt. I dont want anyones child to try anything drastic due to cyber bullying.
This site was only given 1 star, because I could not post without giving at least 1.
This website shouldn't be used for kids under 16, but again, there are those parents who don't take control of/responsibility for there kids. I have seen some nude profile pictures even (they were over 21). Kids should have to worry about sex, especially learn about it from a website. There are young teens talking about how they lost/would like to lose there virginity. It's disgusting!
kids are not always inappropriate have a little trust
i think as long as you know what your kids are doing and check their profiles it is fine if you do not kow what your kids are doing on there just delete their profile i mean it is not hard to do all you have to do is put in their e-mail address to see if they are on their and you can check your own computer files come on people if you pay attention to what your kids are doing what harm is it to let them make some new friends.
i am sorry if i have offended anyone but it is just like anything else if you watch what they are doing and they know it they are not going to do anything improper to get themselves in trouble.
Seeing as I am a parent who is registered to be in myyearbook, this site is definitely unappropriated for kids younger than 16. I have seen teens as young as 13 posting almost nude pictures of themselves, even 13 yr olds talking about sex and how they lost their virginity. Its very appalling. I'm only 20 years old and seeing this makes me very sick. I wonder where all the parents are, who let their kids post this kind of crap. Oh thats right, the parents are too busy letting their kids walk all over them or too busy trying to be their kids "bff".
Not appropriate for much younger that 16 years old
I am so unhappy about this website. I just found my 13 year old girl had a profile. The messages between her and boys were full of profanity and suggestive. There were several pictures that I deem inappropriate. i.e the boys without shirts. I don't feel like this site is appropriate for minors. I deactivated my child's account!
This is a great website. It's a fantastic way to chat with your friends and there's many fun things to do. You can own people, rate them, take quizzes, customize your profile, and many other things. The only thing you would have to worry about is justg to set their profile to private and block people if needed. Overall, I think its great.
My 15 yr old signed up for this and was contacted my a guy with a false profile. He stated he was 16 and engaged her in chats, phone calls in order to set up a meeting. Thankfully I checked & stopped it all and deleted her account. She will never go on this site again & I am informing her friends parents about it too. The site is not protected as facebook is and should be taken down. Not safe at all!!
Parents, do not let your kids on this site. I was a user until just this morning. I had nothing but bullies. I have seen people degrade gays, degrade me for my sexuality and religion, when indeed I was bothering no one. Once you set your privacy settings that does not help.
Some people on here are totally untraceable, because they use fake profiles.
There is a lot of foul language, sexually explicit photos; I have seen people pose half naked. Kids under the age of 21 talk about being drunk or high.
There is even a mood update for "Drunk" and "High"
This site is a bad influence on children, and bad for well anyone, because what people say on this site is utterly hurtful.
PARENTS! I would say block this site from your kids.
If your kids want a social network, FaceBook or Myspace (both have GREAT security and privacy standards). There you can keep an eye on them, and they can be social with friends, and family, AND you can keep a better eye on them.
