This site doesn't have anything kids don't hear at school all the time anyway. Bad cusswords are charactered out (B!tch^s, etc.) It's not a big deal.

What Parents Need to Know
About People's Dirt
Parents need to know that there is nothing redeeming about this trashy message board, which encourages teens to post anonymous gossip about classmates. The site has been shut down twice to allow criminal investigations. According to one online newspaper, Maryland's attorney general is investigating the site for misrepresenting itself to advertisers as a kid-friendly Web site.

Families Can Talk About
- Families can talk about why People’s Dirt should be given wide berth. Though a constitutional right, free speech does not require society to make or listen to hateful comments, especially when they leave a lasting digital footprint, and while it’s only natural to be curious about what others are saying, kids visit Dirt at their own risk. Adults like Dirt’s creator Alfredo Castillo do not have teens’ best interests at heart. Like all cyberbullies, he should be ignored.

Hey parents. Now you know what goes on in school every day, and what people say.
Imagine your high school with the rating of this site, no kids, etc. Well guess what, the things said in this forum are said every day in high schools/ middle schools everywhere. Yet, some parents don't care a bit about what goes on inside, and presume that all hate and evil only comes from outside media, not schools like my mom thinks (oh, you poor ignorant souls who do...). This site is obviously encouraging violence by those who spread gossip, but even if you took this site down, it would not make a difference in the real world. Anyways, an anonymous (those who are smart and choose to stay anonymous) forum is always going to attract people for free, non-censored discussions about anything they want. I'm all fine with that, but those who do post false or degrading information are responsible for what they say about others.

I seriously just can't believe it. Who thought it was a good idea to make a site promoting talking trash about others and cyberbullying??? I had never heard of this site, and when I checked it I was just speechless. On this site, you are supposed to post gossip or "dirt" onto a forum that every1 in your high school reads.Think about all the chaos this site could cause. Just....wow.

Teens Deserve Better Online Forum
This online forum is a hateful and disgusting way for kids to post gossip about one another. In what amounts to no more than the writing on the bathroom walls, this blog gives kids an "anonymous" place to air rumored dirty laundry or to e-chat about that person they all love to hate. The unfortunate targets see their name in print, for the world to see, the effects of which are longer lasting than the ink in one bathroom stall at school. The site is down (June '09) and should remain down for good!
