  • Common Sense says

Fan site promotes games, has some racy content.

Why We Rated This iffy for Ages 16–17

The good stuff

  • Educational value:

    Not an issue.

What to watch out for

  • Messages:

The heavy emphasis on gaming means that much of the content is geared towards promoting games or teaching people how to beat them, including various technical "cheats," tricks to help defeat opponents, and the artificial intelligence used by the games.
  • Violence:

Many of the games that are featured on the site are violent, and the clips include combat, gun fights, and plenty of destruction, often with bloody and gory images.
  • Sex:

Adult film actresses are mentioned by name, and identified as such. Some of the game clips also include female characters in very skimpy costumes. Some segments require users to click a box to verify that they are 18 or older, and others include a warning box that the content may not be appropriate for young people.
  • Language:

Some video interviews contain profanity, including "f-cking," though the forums are generally pretty tame.
  • Consumerism:

This site is all about games, and heavily promotes individual titles, game franchises, and the major gaming systems. There are video clips from games, previews of upcoming releases, professional advertisements and lots of user-submitted videos. The site also promotes several adult entertainment companies, such as Playboy.
  • Drinking, drugs, & smoking:

    Not an issue.

Families Can Talk About

  • Families can talk about what appeals to them about various game genres. What makes a game inappropriate for kids? If you like to play video games, would you be entertained watching clips of other people's games? Or do you think that playing is only fun for the players, not an audience?
