As a teen, I am extremely impressed with this site. Most sites seem to talk down to teens, but not this one. I found this site while googling an important issue and now I when I have other issues, I go straight to this site.
The one of the things to notice that other people may over-look is that TeensHeath has a section for everyone. On the top left hand section there are 3 tabs that say ( For Parents, For Kids, and For Teens.) The content varies depending on which section you visit. While there is in the teen section some iffy material it mainly promotes the idea of visiting a doctor, and not engaging in bad behaviors such as smoking. Also it is very helpful in ways to stay healthy and safe. There are special articles warning against smoking and telling you to stay fit. Also, it helps you deal with stress and other mental problems such as Post- Traumatic- Stress Disorder. Overall, the website is very helpful during your teen years. For me, as a teen, it is a great way to learn.
This is an eductaiol site for kids. Created by the people who made KidsHealth, this site tells about for, well, teens. Anyway, it's a good site with good advice. There is sex in it, but it's obviously there to teach you about it, so it's not that bad. Overall a good website
Perfect for older kids (13+ (and up)), but not for younger, say, twelve.
Like it- it's informal, probably wouldn't want children under 13 to be on there, but overall the site is sending a good message.
- Real questions that teens may be too embarrassed to ask right out, are asked and answered on this site (as 'Common Sense' says, regulary reviewed by health care professionals, so there's no worry in the wrong information or message). There are some topics that are WAY to excplict and, well, maybe innapropriate for say, an 11, maybe a 12 year old, but definitely, a-okay for teens.
