I luv this site and im 14, but it is still something to b cautious about........
i luv this website but u have to b very careful about the chat rooms. ther is no language guard (like on webkinz) so u can type anything! bad words, etc. etc. and its pathetic how many people take advantage of it! people will ask people out, swear, and ask if anyone wants to have sex. and the giving out of personal information is terrible! people are saying how old they are, ther name, even where the live! everything besides the chat rooms is pretty clean tho. the only other thing is they have a few pieces of lenguire in the clothes department, but thats mainly it. i avoid the chat rooms at all costs.
Cute little cartoons masquerading as a child's site
My daughter who is 10 just signed up for this and my 13 year old son is the one to bring the inappropriateness to my attention. I like to pride myself knowing what my kids are up to on the internet. I feel vigalence is key, but in passing you don't notice the hidden problems of this site because it looks similar to the other sites she plays on where you can play dress up and don't interact with others. However, this is really bothering me that 1, when creating your character you can change the boob size (!!!) and 2, mosto f the profiles on there were ppl advertising for a relationship. This is more scary than myspace.
My twelve year old daughter's friends told her to make an account. She did, and didn't tell me at first. About a week and a half later, I was on my laptop when I got an IM from one of her friends. "Go on Weeworld!" it said. Since my daughter wasn't home, I Googled the name of the site and went on the homepage. Her login information was remembered, and I signed in. There was a boy on her page, having what seemed like sex. I clicked on him and various messages from my daughter were sent to him, all of them including intercourse. I went back on her page, and saw my daughter's friend had posted something. "Hey! Does Howe(the boy) f*** good?" I nearly died.
Needless to say, she's not allowed on Weeworld anymore.
ANYONE can leave a message or attempt to chat with your child. The avatars are misleading. My child started using it to play games and was quickly contacted by people we didn't know.
It is a very inapropreat website. Some kids dress in inapropreat chlothing such as pants that are half way to there hips and it also has party rooms and they are not used for haveing partys they invite there girlfriends and boyfriends and they do inapropreate things. Also weeworld dose not filter there laugnguage propally. And weeworld also lets the weemees to adopt kids. And they also give out there passwords, phone numbers, addrasses, and facebook names, If you need more info talk to me on weeworld my name is love2liv123
This is an exaggeration!
Kids 12 and up can enjoy it!
Some stuff may be true but it depends on how you use it. Like Facebook--it can be good or bad.
I know many young teens and tweens who use Weeworld wisely.
Maybe you need to educate better and not exaggerate.
the sexual content is REALLY bad. they even like date and kiss on there and pretend to do it. the language is not as bad but the filters aren't that good. my kids cannot go on.
i love it, and i think that anyone over 10 or 11 should be aloud to go on it! i am 38 years old and i let my 10, 11, and 13 year olds go on... as long as they dont cuss which there not aloud to or they would get kicked of the website! so if i let my kids go on, so should you!
This is a hotbed for sexual predators posing to be young teens. Sexual content on names and in posts. The website really has no ability to limit access to younger kids (they all can just lie about their age on the create account menu). Kids are too naive to realize the danger these kinds of websites pose for them. Complaining to the company is a joke. They respond with automated emails and never really take any action with regards to parents' concerns. Any company that is afraid to post its Corporate phone number for contact to a real customer service representative should send flags up to all concerned. I would highly recommend to all parents that have young children to make sure they don't have access to this website.
I made an acount to see what this site was like. As you walk around the virtual world, you'll encounter players having "virtual intercourse" and such. And relationships. It's a very bad sight. I would NOT Reccomend it for any teens, as it influences bad behavior.
I see many peoples comments and I agree with most of them. Weeworld has changed a bit recently though. They block out most of the curse words and leave in only a few. Now I will admit that there are some kids on there that shouldnt be. Kids that only think about "doing it" which is wrong. But you can simply block these kids or decline their friendship. I say kids 13 and up should be allowed to play. Now, they also did a thing were now when you get dressed your covered by under clothing. So weeworld has gotten better. I say it depends on your family and what your child is like. Let your parent look at the website before starting. Thats all. Also haha really quick, make sure your child doesn't give out personal information. All you need to do is trust your child and look at the site. Weeworld isn't as bad as some users say it is. But it could still use some improvments.
there was a case on this in my neighborhood a few months ago. some girl gave out her personal info and they guy she was talking to decided to drop into the neighborhood. luckily the girls mom called the police and they caught him. be VERY careful on this site as long as you dont give away personal info you should be fine
Yet another social networking site that lures kids in by appearing attractive to children with its animated avatars, yet an innocent child can find him or herself caught in a web of inappropriate pressures to be sexual beyond their age. With its lack of filtering, anything goes, and kids can easily lie about their age when registering with the "Must be 18 or older" requirement.
