What is the process after an application is submitted?

Please note we cannot respond to every application.

  1. Our HR team reviews applications to identify qualified candidates.
  2. Qualified candidates are invited to do a telephone screening.
  3. The most qualified candidates will be invited to an in-person interview. Common Sense typically conducts 2 to 3 rounds of in-person interviews in the hiring process.
  4. References will be solicited from our final candidates. (Please note that some positions will require additional background checks.)
  5. A formal written job offer will be made to our top final candidate.

Development Manager, Foundations- San Francisco, CA or New York, NY

We are seeking a Development Manager to join our talented and passionate development team! The ideal candidate has had strategic design and fundraising experience as part of previous role(s). Exceptionally strong written and oral communication and presentation skills are critical.

Head of Communications- San Francisco, CA. 

Reporting to the vice president of External Affairs, the Head of Communications will develop and lead a high-profile, high-volume press operation for Common Sense, directly managing activities that promote, enhance, and protect the organization's brand, programs, reputation, and impact.

HR Administrative Assistant (Temporary) - San Francisco, CA. 

We are seeking an aspiring HR assistant/admin for a temporary, two-month assignment.  The person in this role will help keep recruiting velocity at full throttle by managing multiple and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, while also assisting with various administrative tasks. This role will directly support the HR manager and recruiter with tasks that require great attention to detail.

Marketing Communications Coordinator- San Francisco, CA. 

We are seeking a marketing and communications coordinator to support the vice president of external relations. Skilled at communicating with various stakeholders, the ideal candidate will show initiative across all functions of the role. They are supremely organized and tech-savvy and possess excellent people skills and a willingness to solve problems and get work done.

Staff Accountant- San Francisco, CA. 

We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our Finance Team to help us scale smoothly and efficiently. In this role, you’ll work alongside our experienced Controller and other members of the Finance and Administrative Teams. You’ll also be a member of an organization where we value transparency, are passionate about what we do, and take care in our interactions with colleagues and customers.

Senior Technologist - San Francisco, CA. 

We are seeking a Senior Technologist to develop a tech advocacy agenda that prioritizes kids' best interests, covering privacy and security, product design, AI, voice, and more. This person will manage Kids Action tech legislative advocacy efforts in California and nationwide to protect and empower kids and families in the digital age.
