Free motion-based maze game is short but sweet, then costs.

What parents need to know

Ease of play

Just tilt the device to make the ball roll, remembering that it will always fall toward the ground. Alternatively, you can drag your finger around the screen to spin the maze. Things get a bit trickier in open environments, where your ball can tumble away into open air, but the game provides a warning should you move too far away from the labyrinth.

This free app has an ad bar running along the top of the app which changes regularly causing some distraction. Also, while advertised as being "free," there are only 10 levels offered for free -- the rest can be unlocked by paying for them as an in-app purchase.

Parents Need to Know

Parents need to know that Blind World 2 HD is a motion-controlled maze game that has players rolling a ball around invisible labyrinths by tilting and turning their iPad (or iPhone if you download the free version for the iPhone/iPod Touch called Blind World 2). Every time the ball bumps into a wall in the maze or an edge, it paints it and the player earns points. The content is completely innocuous, and is accompanied by soothing music. The first ten levels are free, with extra level packs costing a dollar each. Note that the Challenge Mode supports OpenFeint and Game Center, social games networks that allow players to communicate with others.

QUALITY

BLIND WORLD 2 HD is an invisible maze game that should prove instantly accessible to anyone who understands the basic physics involved in rolling a ball around a flat surface. Simply tilt the device to make the game’s ball move about and paint to reveal small, simple labyrinths. The catch is that the mazes are invisible until the ball bumps into something. The player’s job is to make maze edges visible.

Complicating matters are invisible geometric shapes that sometimes bounce around inside the maze with your ball, making it difficult to reach certain areas. Also, some levels see players painting the outer edges of the maze -- meaning it’s possible to fall away from the maze into open space. It’s fun enough while it lasts, but the ten free levels are short, and additional level packs cost a dollar each.
