Dreamy and touchable, Bloom's the nap app in my book

The beauty of Bloom is its immediacy. The "generative music" model behind its design creates a touchable and calming soundtrack that can soothe even the most restless toddler. Each screen tap creates a new chime that, like ripples on a pond, blends with other chimes created by earlier taps. Underneath it all, a new-agey soundscape ebbs and flows. The app's ability to either auto-generate music or allow for interaction is a nice feature, as is the ability to change the music's "mood" by picking from several presets. Just two problems mar this apps' otherwise somnolent charms. For some children, it's more engaging than calming. Additionally, active hands can sometime press the hardware's "home" button, cutting Bloom's dulcet tones short with jarring silence.
