Eliminate Pro

Violent but bloodless shoot-em-up is free -- for now.

What parents need to know

Ease of play

The game is pretty involved, featuring highly customizable gear, but it's not difficult to get started. Game basics are taught via a clever new employee orientation video. After that, the great touchscreen controls quickly make walking, aiming, and firing feel like second nature.

Violence

Using a variety of weapons, you shoot combatants. Victims crumple but faces are obscured by body armor. No blood is seen.

Consumerism

Kids get regular reminders that if they run low on energy cells they can purchase more at the iTunes store, and small ads for G-rated products appear on the weapons screen. The game applies credits toward certain weapon upgrades if players download other free ngmoco games.

Privacy & safety

In addition to inviting friends they know, kids can use a global matchmaking system over the Plus+ social gaming network to compete against strangers. However, only game aliases are revealed.

Parents Need to Know

Parents need to know that this free multiplayer game is a violent first-person shooter in which players attempt to kill each others' avatars. There's no blood, and online play is pretty safe.

QUALITY

This outer-space shooter boasts a clever sci-fi storyline and better-than-average 3D graphics. You're a new employee of Arsenal Megacorp, hired to test advanced weapons against real combatants. From this auspicious beginning you level up steadily in your choice of futuristic weapons and playing environments, including exciting online matchups. Eliminate Pro is not nearly as realistic as the fantastic N.O.V.A., but then this app is free. At that price, it's a real bargain.

good app with some blood

Common sense is wrong. This game has blood in it. In fact, whenever someone is shot they spray blood, and sometimes blood smears on walls, but then disappears in a second. This game is a fps, but it just isnt as intense as most. It is like online halo for tweens. It should be rated T for Blood and Violence.

Anyone who has an itouch or iphone should get this!!!

Awesome game. Me and my cousin were playing this nonstop on vacation. It is violent, but there isnt any blood or gore, and enemies dont look to realistic since there in armor. I love the perks too.
