What’s It About?
Swipe left or right to browse through five possible activities in FIND ME! : PAINTING ZOO. Kids match, pick, catch, drag, and complete simple puzzles with colorful animals. Match is a classic memory game; in Pick, kids finds the animal in a group that matches the target; Catch resembles Whac-A-Mole; Drag has kids dragging an animal to a target location; and Complete is a jigsaw puzzle. After the demo and a successful first round, the games go up a small notch in difficulty.
Is It Any Good?
Fun, wacky animals star in this small collection of simple and easily accessible mini-games. There's not much depth to the activities, nor are they particularly innovative, but they are cute, easy to play, and well packaged. One thing to note: Not all of the elements in the games make sense. For instance, the timer adds a bit of pressure and excitement -- or anxiety, depending on the kid -- but doesn't seem to affect anything. Overall, Find Me! : Painting Zoo is a decent option for the little ones to play games with a light learning foundation.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about the games in Find Me! : Painting Zoo to draw attention to the skills kids are practicing as they play. To encourage them to explain each game in their own words, ask them what they have to do in the game.
Provide kids with lots of play-based opportunities to practice the foundational skills they'll need for school. Through books, conversation, songs, play dates, and carefully chosen toys, you can offer letter and number games, social skills practice, whole body movement and fine motor skills activities, and logic and reasoning challenges.
Play offscreen games that challenge kids' thinking. Have them sort or match (for example, match clean socks), play games that require attention (such as memory), or get them using fine motor skills (puzzles, beading, block play, drawing).
