What’s It About?
The FOCUS KEEPER PRO app offers users a strategy to help stay focused on tasks, leading to more productivity. Options included in the app are adjustable lengths of the timer, with an option to also include breaks. Some people enjoy background noises while working and there are 13 background sound options, that include choices such as a clock ticking, steam, cafe noise, rain, fast ticking, and music. In addition, there are 15 alarm options such as chimes, a bicycle, bells, cymbals, news, whistle, jingles, beeps, and the sound of a meowing kitten. The background color of the timer can be chosen from a color picker with endless options. Aside from the actual timer with numbers that count backwards down to zero, there is a visual option at the bottom of the screen, where part of the circle disappears, in a counter clockwise fashion, which is a great option for kids who don't understand the concent of numbers. For teachers or parents who might be wondering if the timer is effective and who need data to support their interventions, there is an option to show data over the course of a month, as to how many focus sessions were successfully completed.
Is It Any Good?
This timer, used in large or small increments, can really help motivate kids to sustain their attention for periods of time and learn to manage their time. Parents may need to use some trial and error with the customizable features to make sure the visual and auditory features are helpful and not distracting. But for those struggling to complete activities because of ADHD or other attention issues, Focus Keeper Pro is certainly worth a try if it can help boost a child's confidence, independence, and productivity throughout their day.

Families can talk about how Focus Keeper Pro could help kids sustain their attention on activities, especially if they are tasks that they don't love, like homework or chores. What are some of the reasons you use a timer at home now? How can a timer like this help you manage your time?
For competitive kids, timers can be a great way to motivate them to get their work done, but for other kids timers could cause a lot of anxiety. How do timers usually make you feel? What are ways to make them work for you?
Talk about how they may feel more empowered by having a choice of the features, which could help their willingness to participate. What features do you want to adjust? Why does it help to be able to customize features?
