Glow Doodle App Poster Image

Glow Doodle

Drawing app is simple but fun for younger kids.

What parents need to know

Ease of play

Only four touchscreen controls makes this app very easy to use. Our main beef is that the glow effect can't be applied selectively. Say you want to make your fish's scales glow but nothing else. To manage this you'd have to draw the scales first, apply glow, then draw the rest of the fish, an awkward sequence for most artists, to say the least. Also, "undo" won't erase the glow, only the original line. While this makes for an interesting effect all its own, it doesn't achieve a complete erasure.

Is it any good?

Glow Doodle is the Lite-Brite of iPhone apps. Use your finger to draw on the dark screen, tap "Glow," and the drawing lights up like a neon sign. That's all kids need to create amazing pictures they can proudly save to the photo album and email to friends.
