Engagement, Approach, Support

Catchy songs and happy animations engage kids with grammar vocabulary in lighthearted yet solidly educational ways. The quiz-like activity at the end of each song lesson adds a bit of interactivity.

Learning Approach

Lessons in brief songs provide just enough depth and concrete examples of grammar vocabulary for beginners, and they're followed by the short Quick Check activity for reinforcement.

Kids must read the instructions for the Quick Check quizzes. Even though the instructions are very brief, adding verbal directions would be helpful for emerging readers.

Thinking & Reasoning

Kids can learn about basic grammar terms: adjectives, contractions, nouns, pronouns, punctuation, sentences, and verbs. They can listen to and view examples of each term in the animated songs, then practice their understanding of each in the Quick Check quizzes. Grammar Jammers Primary Edition engages kids with basic grammar vocabulary in a memorable, fun way.

What's it about?

GRAMMAR JAMMERS PRIMARY EDITION uses fun animations and rhythmic songs to help new and emerging readers learn adjectives, contractions, nouns, pronouns, punctuation, sentences, and verbs. Kids tap a topic to watch a brief animation and listen to a song related to that topic. (When they learn about contractions, for example, little bunnies hop and bump apostrophes into words as fun banjo music plays.) Kids can then play the Quick Check quiz to reinforce what they've learned.

Is it any good?

If your kid is struggling to learn basic parts of speech or finds this topic intimidating at school, Grammar Jammers Primary Edition could be an excellent way to ease her into grammar. Fun songs, animated characters, colorful images, and simple words displayed on the screen keep the lessons light and pressure-free. The Quick Check quiz activity at the end of each song is also a low-stress way to find out if kids have understood what they've learned. Answer incorrectly, and the correct answer is immediately highlighted in green. Grammar Jammers Primary Edition is a short, sweet, and sometimes funny way to introduce kids to basic grammar definitions.

Families can talk about...

  • Incorporate new words into your everyday conversations using the catchy tunes, most of which are easy to remember.

  • If more than one kid is using this app, be sure to reset the quiz scores for accurate results.
