What parents need to know

Parents need to know that Handy Manny Flicker's Flashcard Fiesta is designed to teach Spanish (or English) to preschool and early elementary kids. Words are presented in 14 child-friendly categories, including animals, shapes, numbers, household objects, and clothing. The app presents a picture of the word and will display and say the word in English and then Spanish. Parents can choose from easy words or all words, and can select one or more categories for kids to learn. Kids can check off flashcards they've mastered so they can feel like they are progressing. The "Word Bench Game" tests kids on what they know by asking them to match items with their Spanish names (or vice versa in the English-teaching mode). The app is friendly for pre-readers and may even help young kids learn to read in their native language.

Many Hidden sexual innuendos and waaay to violent!

Is it any good?

HANDY MANNY FLICKER'S FLASHCARD FIESTA is a strong flashcard program for teaching children a new language. Using pictures, words, and verbal cues, the app can teach even very young kids something. The only real drawback is that there aren't any fun games to help reinforce learning. Still, it's colorful and uses familiar characters, and given the quality, educational value, and versatility, this app is a good choice for teaching Spanish words to English speakers or English words to Spanish speakers.
