Handy Manny Workshop

Quality app is sometimes challenging on a small screen.

What parents need to know

Ease of play

All of the activities are simple to play, but they fare much better on a larger iPad screen. The "Find It" activity is especially difficult on the smaller screen, and it's hard to accurately color in the coloring pages.

Parents Need to Know

Parents need to know that Handy Manny Workshop has five separate activities. The first is a video of the Handy Manny TV show opening with subtitles. There are also jigsaw puzzles, coloring pages, a matching game, and a search-and-find game. Each of the activities is age-appropriate, and some of them have multiple difficulty levels. Some of the activities are tricky on the smaller screen of an iPhone or iPod Touch and better suited for the iPad.

Is it any good?

HANDY MANNY WORKSHOP is a nicely designed app for preschoolers who are fans of the Playhouse Disney character. With a great mix of activities and multiple difficulty levels, this has good replay value. And although it's a high-quality app, there isn't much here that isn't available in other apps, so it is best geared toward kids who will be excited by the characters and branding.
