Did we miss something on diversity?

What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Happy Timer - Handy Timer is a basic countdown timer tool. It represents time both digitally (with a more traditional countdown timer) as well as graphically. Bars of time disappear based on what kids set, which could be problematic for kids with fine motor delays. The simplicity of Happy Timer - Handy Timer allows kids with attention deficits to focus on the task at hand and not the timer itself.

What’s It About?
HAPPY TIMER - HANDY TIMER opens to a simple set of boxes. Users can slide from the bottom to the top of each of the smaller rectangles to add time to the timer. Each box represents hours, minutes, or seconds and are different colors to differentiate time. Once the appropriate time is set, kids can click on the top rectangle to start the timer or select start from the menu. Once activated, the digital timer and the bar for the corresponding time count down. Once time is up, an alarm sounds.
Is It Any Good?
Happy Timer - Handy Timer helps kids understand the passing of time in a more concrete way. The disappearing graphics within the rectangles help kids to see how much time is remaining in a task or an activity. Because it's so simple, kids with attention deficits can focus on the task at hand and not the timer itself. It offers functionality similar to Time Timer but fewer options.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about setting time limits for specific activities, such as homework or video games. Parents can help kids determine an appropriate amount of time, and kids can practice setting Happy Timer - Handy Timer.
Ask kids to predict how much time an activity might take. Once an activity is completed, ask kids whether they felt like they had too little time, too much time, or just enough time to complete it. Talk about how their answers might affect how they set time limits for a similar activity next time.
