Is It Any Good?
HIPSTAMATIC recreates the experience of photography before the digital age -- warts and all. The app transforms the iPhone's screen into the back of an analog camera complete with tiny viewfinder and the ability to swap out flashes and film canisters to achieve different visual effects. The "effects" include blur, over-exposure, and random shadowing. The resulting photos look like they were taken in the 1970s -- they're even square-shaped instead of the modern 4x6 inches. Hipstamatic's nostalgia-driven hipster charm might very well be lost on kids, but for their parents it provides all the artsy fun of an analog camera without the hassles of film.
