What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Hoggy is a 2-D side-scrolling adventure game in the tradition and style of the old Super Mario Brothers games from the 1980s. There is a lot of strategy involved, and kids will see some very mild cartoony violence along the way. While enemies can hurt Hoggy, the purple blob himself has no attack.

Is It Any Good?
One thing HOGGY has going for it is a wonderful nostalgia factor. It truly feels like something that would have appeared on the old Super Nintendo game system 20 years ago (Hoggy even sort of resembles '80s game hero Kirby) -- except that it also has fantastic tap-and-tilt controls that make playing on your mobile device a real delight. Any fans of retro-style video games should consider Hoggy a real treasure.
