What parents need to know

Parents need to know that Icarus Swinebuckle is a sweet-yet-exciting picture book that children can either have read to them (with text highlighted for easy following along) or read to themselves (with the ability to tap and hear any word they have trouble with). The story is about a pig who believes he'll be able to fly with the set of homemade wings he's been building. No one in town believes in him except his adoring son. In the climactic finale, Icarus climbs atop his house and tries to soar, with unexpected results.

Icarus Swinebuckle flys out of the box!

Love it... so did my child. I highly recommend it! Thanks for the heads up.

Is it any good?

ICARUS SWINEBUCKLE isn't filled with all sorts of interactive doodads -- it's a pretty straightforward read-along storybook (though it does have some very animated scenes that pop up at different points). The story itself is wonderful, though, so extra bells and whistles aren't really needed. And as a read-along book, this app really shines. The highlighting of the text makes it easy for kids to follow along, and when they want to take a stab at reading the book themselves, the ability to merely tap any tough word they come across and hear it spoken aloud to them is a fantastic innovation.
