Kids, teens, and adults will find this to be a great translation tool that satisfies curious minds and makes understanding and communicating in a different language a reality. The app's interface is clean, and navigating the app is straightforward. The "like" icon, the favorites folder, and app history make navigation even easier by allowing users to organize and easily find translations. The offline feature is great for travelers who are in need of a translation but are short on connectivity. The fact that the app's key features work offline make it an even more appealing communication aid. Ever hear a language and wonder what it is? Adding to the ease of use, the language auto-detect feature identifies the input language, which means that users don't actually need to recognize the language they want translated. The Lens is another neat feature that makes the app practical and useful. Using the device's camera, the app can translate chunks of text quickly. This takes the mystery out of ordering at a restaurant, understanding street signs, or understanding articles or passages. Translation based on images of objects adds to the app's efficiency; however, this feature can be a hit or miss. Its accuracy seems to depend on how common the object is and how centered and focused the object appears in the picture. As with other automated translation tools, it may miss common sayings and may fail to capture the meaning of certain phrases. Regardless, iTranslate Translator makes for seamless, on-the-spot translation.
