Is it any good?

Even if you've visited the Library Of Congress, this app is an exceptional tool to help you get a better sense of the history and magnificence of the world's largest library. It's an invaluable tool for students researching the facility and would even be useful for self-guided tours. Beyond information about the library itself, the app offers several related links for each subject (which go to the LOC web site). These are helpful, but it would have been nice to have this information included (and formatted) as part of the app, rather than an external link, which detracts slightly from the experience.

Not likely to hold anybody's attention

I downloaded this app after seeing it highly rated by Common Sense and was really disappointed. While there's nothing objectionable in it, there's nothing really to merit spending time there either. The bulk of the app is photos of things at the LOC, such as architecture. I was hoping to have a portable source of things like the Declaration of Independence but I can't find much here other than the photos, a few audio tours and a web link to the site. Since we're in a rural area and my kids usually use my ipod on the road, the web link is useless most of the time I'd want it. Even some classical music while viewing the tiny photos would offer something to make it hold attention a little better. We homeschool and my kids tend to love educational apps, but this didn't even hold my attention. I don't have much hope that it will interest my kids.
