Is It Any Good?
In LIGHTNING WAS HERE: MY PUZZLE BOOK, racecar Lightning McQueen takes readers on a tour of Radiator Springs, where they'll meet the town's anthropomorphized car characters like Mater, the tow truck, and Luigi, the mechanic. A visual table of contents lets kids skip to any page, and they can also complete a handful of jigsaw puzzles and collect decals to decorate Lightning's hood. The scenes aren't packed with interactive elements, and although the book is read by a great narrator, words aren't highlighted as they're read. Lightning Was Here does have one very neat feature, though -- a "Record" button that lets kids or their parents narrate the story by recording themselves speaking and playing it back for each page.
