What’s It About?
As a puzzle game, LITTLE LEGENDS: PUZZLE PVP doesn't have a story. Instead, you compete in a series of match-3 puzzle games against other players. Winning matches not only gives you gems you may need to keep playing, but also new characters who can help you win those matches by doing special moves.
Is It Any Good?
Though a bit too simple, this competitive match-3 does offer something solo versions of this puzzle genre do not. In Little Legends: Puzzle PVP, you play a match-3 puzzle game against another person online. Like more combative versions of competitive puzzle games, matching 3 or more of the same gems not only gives you points, but matching more than three earns you special gems as well as an extra turn (and maybe even an angry icon message from your opponent). You also, by matching gems of a certain color, recharge your character's special clearing move, while winning matches earns you secondary characters who have their own cool moves (but are limited to one use per match).
What really makes this compelling, though, is its pace. In this contest of champions, players each have two turns per round (though you can get more by matching more than 3 gems or matching a special gem), and there are only three rounds. More importantly, every round has a time limit, so you better make your move quick. All of which gives this a bit more tension than other, longer, un-timed combative puzzle games, while also keeping things short and sweet. Now, admittedly, this could be more inventive. Or at least let you move pieces diagonally. But if you don't mind the simplicity -- like, say, if you're looking for something to play with your kid and maybe, for once, show them who's boss -- Little Legends: Puzzle PVP is a puzzling bit of friendly competition.
