What parents need to know

Parents need to know that Lola's Flag Adventure is an educational app that will help kids learn to recognize flags for 90 countries around the world from Europe, the Americas, and Asia/Pacific. Africa isn't included. The game can be played in English, French, Chinese, or German. There is a time element, but the game does not count down in seconds. The app also includes a coloring page and an activity where kids can design their own flags using different colored stripes, circles, hearts, crescents, and stars.

Is it any good?

LOLA'S FLAG ADVENTURE is packed with 90 flags for kids to learn and identify while doing a few different activities. Kids also learn country names as they match flag pairs in the memory game or match a country name to a flag in the trivia game. Two countries, Monaco and Indonesia, have very similar flags, however, and are easy to confuse. The game interface isn't sophisticated, but the game itself has a lot to offer, especially since flags of the world are not usually taught early in school.
