MABEL & LULU: THE REAL LIFE ADVENTURES- AN INTERACTIVE BOOK FOR KIDS (IPAD VERSION) is a storybook app that has two stories about dogs Lulu and Mabel. The story words aren't highlighted as they are being read aloud, and kids can't tap on the words to have them read again. Help Me Discover paw prints are supposed to show up after the words have been read, but most of the time they are missing. However, just tapping on the screen will reveal a lot of interactive hotspots. The stories may not have universal appeal as one is about a dog being locked in a car when it needs to pee. The other is about a dog who gets loose in an airport. It is difficult to turn the pages on the iPod Touch/iPhone without accidentally tapping an interactive element in the scene, since the swiping area is so small. Dog-loving kids might like this one, but there are better book apps out there.
