What parents need to know

Ease of play

The app controls are easy to understand and require rotating on-screen blocks. The turning controls are overly sensitive, often resulting in over-rotation, but it only mildly impacts gameplay.

Parents Need to Know

Parents need to know that Merry Cubes HD is a cube-puzzle app that invites kids to solve picture puzzles involving silly fruit characters. Kids rotate and turn each of the four or nine cubes so that the pictures are aligned to show one of the six fruits. Once the picture is complete, the fruit comes to life with animations. Each fruit is highlighted when completed, so kids can work their way through the whole set of puzzles. They can then start again, or try the harder level.

Is it any good?

MERRY CUBES HD is a cute and engaging puzzle game for your children. They will most likely enjoy collecting all of the fruits and watching them come to life. Unfortunately, once the six puzzles are complete, the only option is to do them all over again. The second difficulty level adds minimal extra gameplay as the images are the same. Some kids may be captivated by this game, but others will only want to play once or twice.
