12+ should be fine

Thi game very rarely uses and cussing but when it does it is intense. Violnece is not a real issue but blood is seen on the screen and of course you use guns. Just like MC3 i give this on for 12 and up.

It's OK

This is a very good game with pixelated blood and not too many swear words. If you're not letting your child play this and he or she is 11+ it's okay for them to play this, don't restrict your kids from this.

My review 11+

I rate this 12 and up because by this age kids are in middle school and should get more freedom plus trust me fellow parents-if your kid is in middle school they will hear cussing all day and this game has barely and cussing (a he** and dam* every level and possibly a fu** or shi* 2 or 3 times in the whole campaign. But if your kid is immature and will repeat everything they hear then this app is not for them. Lots of blood but its fake and i dont think its much to consider. The whole message is fighting for whats right.

Pretty good game.

If you let your child play shooting games like lets say... Call of Duty, or Battlefield, Halo, Borderlands etc. than this game is just fine. The only thing I would worry about is language. They say the f-bomb frequently, but you can always turn down your device. I definitely recommend this game to FPS fans. It's like CoD in your pocket!

not too bad

I really enjoy this game. It has an online and a campaign mode. The campaign is by far the most violent but not anything serious. You do hear swear words but not too much plus you can turn the blood off. Online there is nothing to worrie about.

Exciting, adrenaline filled game, has bad language

People are overreacting about the violence, while it is what you would see in a PG-13 movie. There is very strong language, f***, s***, etc. If you are worried about language, then just leave campaign. (Personally, I like multi-player more.)

Run of the mill shooter isn't terribly inappropriate

Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour is just another generic shooter. It doesn't feature any more violence than any other shooter you will find nowadays. Most of the combat is infantry based with various assault riffles. You will shoot through hundreds of baddies throughout the duration of the campaign. Shots will give a little blood, but the game never felt like a bloodbath. On occasion there will be bloodstains on walls. There are a few cutscenes where you are required to stab an enemy, but the camera turns away quickly during these scenes. Most of the action is fast paced, so you won't be able to stop and look at the dead bodies. Language is pretty explicit, but by middle school your child will hear worse language from their peers (think the f bomb, a couple uses of sh-t). You do have an option to play as the antagonist, although you won't be killing civilians. The archenemy of the game smokes a cigar in some cutscenes. Gameloft does provide in app purchases, although they aren't required for fun and can be disabled. Overall MC4 is pretty generic and nothing over the top. It's silly to say the least. It's like a b-rated movie. The lines are cringe worthy, but the action is pretty fun.
