Possibly the most gorgeous animated book for the iPad.

Not for non readers , too obtuse

My daughter is five, and she enjoyed the first few pages, but the archaic speech ( old fashioned wording) kept her from really engaging. Probably better for children who can read on their own.

There aren't enough adjectives to describe just how beautiful the three-dimensional animations that illustrate PEDLAR LADY are. It feels less like a read-along storybook and more like a movie. The narration performance and the haunting soundtrack are equally great, too. In fact, the whole app feels revolutionary, partially because the camera angles and sounds randomly change, which makes the experience differ on successive readings. On one reading, you may see the old lady rocking in her chair from a direct profile, but the next reading might allow you to see the same scene from a lower perspective on a tilted angle. Of course, all these technical achievements wouldn't make it a great app if the story was lousy -- That's no worry here. It is magical.
