What parents need to know

Parents need to know that Pet My Dinosaur allows kids to scroll through a series of dinosaur pictures. If they "pet" the dinosaur, it will roar (or make another appropriate sound). Since we don't actually know what sounds a particular dinosaur made, this is for entertainment value only. Touching a question mark opens an information page for that particular dinosaur.

Is it any good?

PET MY DINOSAUR is likely to be a short-lived hit among young kids who are obsessed with the extinct creatures. Unfortunately, once you've petted each of the dinosaurs, there's little else to engage you in this app. The images are awful, and many of them look like they were snagged from a '70s horror film, and the backgrounds are too distracting. The information pages are interesting, but it's often difficult to identify the dinosaur from the associated image; there are just better apps for that purpose.
