The parents' guide to what's in this app.

Ease of Play

The app is very simple to use: Tap on one of the images on the home screen to pick a puzzle. Drag pieces to place them on the outlines, and they click into place. The puzzle can be reset, and after completion swiping will go to the next puzzle. You can also tap the logo at any time to return to the home screen.

After viewing the artist info page, there is a screen that mentions another puzzle app from the developers; however, there is no in-app link to go to the App Store.

What parents need to know

Parents need to know that Piece me CIRCUS! is a simple puzzle app for young kids. This app series has a focus on the artists behind the images, so kids can learn a little more than just doing the puzzles. The app advertises other puzzle apps but does not provide a link to the iTunes App Store.

Is it any good?

Fashionbuddha's series of puzzle apps has a special focus on the artists who created the images. PIECE ME CIRCUS! is the second in the series. There are seven circus characters to put together, and when each one is completed it is animated and the name is displayed and read aloud. These puzzles also have overlapping layers, which adds some interest and sets them apart from real puzzles.

Alberto Cerriteno's images are goofy and fun, and kids will enjoy them. The interface is easy to use, with pieces clicking into place when they're dragged to the right spot. One nice touch about the app (designed by a parent) is that there are no links within the app to take you to a browser or the App Store. Alberto Cerrinteo's website URL is displayed, but parents will need to manually open a browser to view it, which prevents kids from getting online from within the app.
