What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Seasons and Weather ! is an educational app that aims to teach young children and toddlers the difference between seasons and other weather information. Built by the developer of the PBS Kids Play! app, the tool speaks to children in a calming, encouraging manner and is designed to minimize frustration. The game comes with three levels for varying age groups. Younger kids who play the more advanced levels might have some problems identifying elements in pictures that aren't appropriate for the season (for example, hints of snow on boots on a fall day), but again, the app does not penalize for wrong answers.

What’s It About?
Kids identify different types of weather through photographs, processing information such as cloud cover and what people are wearing. The app also teaches days and activities via a calendar activity, where players are asked to put photographs on the appropriate days of the week.
Is It Any Good?
Weather skills might seem self-evident to some parents, but for toddlers, they're an introduction to the world of science. Seasons and Weather ! gently eases kids into the differences between seasons and how to dress for each one -- and even manages to sneak in some calendar education. The app is split into three levels for different age groups (though most young kids are likely to hop between them), giving it a wider range of appeal. It's an app that requires no reading skills, letting users learn at their own pace, regardless of age. Ultimately, that means most kids will have fun with it, prompting them to play longer (and, ideally, learn more).
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Ask kids to compare and contrast weather conditions in the app to real-world weather.
Discuss previous snowy/hot/rainy days and what clothes everyone wore.
Check the weather report and plan clothing and activities based on the forecast. Ask kids why certain types of clothes are fitting for certain types of weather.
