Parents Need to Know

Parents need to know that State Hunt is the 21st century version of the old road trip game where kids see who can spot license plates from different states. As with the original game upon which this app is based, this version is simple. There's one screen with a list of the 50 states. When you see a license plate for a state, click on its name and the app records the date and time you saw it and how many you've found in total.

Is it any good?

The good thing about STATE HUNT is that it gets kids eyes off the device's screen in a car and actually looking out onto the road and into the world. This free app doesn't have much depth, so it would be nice to see other features added in upcoming versions (perhaps even as simple as some trivia about each state pop up when that license plate is spotted?). Even so, the game itself has been road tested for generations and this app is simple enough for any reading member of the family to use, and the price is right.
