What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that The Smurfs Movie Storybook is an abridged version of story in the 2011 The Smurfs movie with little interactivity. The book can be set so you can read the story yourself, hear a narrated version of the story while turning the pages, or hear the narrated version with automatically turned pages. The story has some moments of mild peril, but will be tame for most kids. There is some use of magic and an evil wizard. The app also includes several "spot the difference" puzzles that may be challenge for very young kids.

Is It Any Good?
THE SMURFS MOVIE STORYBOOK is a cute way to bring home the fun of the movie. Unfortunately, the story is watered down, and the lack of interactive elements is disappointing. On the other hand, kids can enjoy the book on their own whether or not they can read. They will also enjoy the "spot the difference" puzzles, but there are only three of those. The value of this app is going to come down to whether or not your kids are fans of the Smurfs.
